Human Resources and Skills Development Canada - federal agency responsible for assessment of offers made by Canadian employers to foreign workers. Its mandate is to ensure that Canadians and permanent residents have the first right to be hired for positions advertised.

Immigration and Refugee Board - federal agency handling refugee program and appeals for sponsors and permanent residents who are in danger of losing their status.
Labour Market Opinion - a document issued by Service Canada. If positive, Canadian employer may offer a job to foreign national.
Provincial Nominee Program - immigration category that allows provinces and territories to select new immigrants based on their specific needs.
